Myers Briggs Training

Course Outline

Following the revolutionary work of Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Carl Jung, MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) is one of the most popular personality profiling tools in the world. Through Myers Briggs training, knowledge of your MBTI frees you to recognise your own natural preferences. Allowing you to trust your potential for growth and excellence.

Myers Briggs Training

This is a Myers Briggs training course of 1/2+1/2+1/2 classroom days, spaced over 4 months. Specifically designed for suppliers to the UK Grocery Industry, it includes support in between training days designed to make the learning stick. You will experience our unique training method Sticky Learning ®.
The course will be delivered by a world class tutor that has worked in the UK Grocery Industry. In addition, like all of our training courses, it includes our ROI guarantee.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this Myers Briggs training course, the Learner will be able to:

Use the Myers Briggs self-report questionnaire to identify their individual Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).
Be able to identify the four different dimensions, extraversion (E), Introversion (I), Sensing (S), and Intuition (N).
Identify each of the 16 personality types and understand some of the key differences.
Describe their own type preferences in terms of the Myers Briggs type indicator and how they like to interact.
Develop an understanding of the type preferences of others and recognise behaviour cues from each different type preference.
Understand how to adapt their approach to better communicate and engage with people of different type preferences.
Hopefully, the term ‘Sticky Learning ®’ has intrigued you. Whilst you probably also guessed a sense of what it is about.
In short, Sticky Learning ® is our own unique learning method. A method that we have developed to help Learners Realise more of what they have learnt. To help them be able to Recall more of what they have learnt. And Retain more of what they have learnt. Furthermore, in 2016 we upgraded this unique training method to include habits formation. We feel this has become a big part of helping Learners to use more of what they have learnt.
This is good for our clients. It means that the money they spend with us is better invested than with other training providers. This is because, by following our methods, the learning is put to use for longer.

Making the Learning Stick

Your tutor for the Myers Briggs training course will be one of the following:

Kate Burrows:

Kate has worked in the training & development functions of a variety of blue chip companies and fell in love with the grocery industry when she began working for The Tetley Group in 2002. She is passionate about developing people and teams in an engaging and practical way. Kate’s expertise lies in soft skills training, management development, coaching and facilitation. She is qualified to administer and interpret Myers Briggs Step I and Step II.
When not at work, Kate hangs out in sunny Chichester with her husband Alex, young son Harry and usually a few friends at the weekends. She enjoys cooking and baking and adding to her groaning shelf of recipe books.

Sally Booth:

Sally remains a retailer at heart, having worked for 14 years with one of the big four UK supermarkets, both as a Line Manager and within the Training function. She has practised what she preaches regarding People Development! Sally is passionate about bringing learning to life. She enables participants to really experience a new skill and work on it live in the room. Allowing them to see it, hear it, think it and feel it. Her particular expertise lies in the areas of Personal Coaching; Impact and Influence and Leadership and Team Development. Sally is a qualified MBTI practitioner making her an ideal facilitator of this course.
When not working, Sally enjoys spending time with her teenagers, Amie and Zach, both of whom she finds are a rich source of examples in her work. Sally loves swimming and walking– it’s here that she does her best thinking (as well as being damage limitation due to a love of food and wine!).

Coming Soon, but for now, here's one from our Leadership / HBDI training:

“We asked MBM to lead an away day for our leadership teams and they delivered exactly what we needed. Tailoring the session to meet our needs (and adapting it as he went along to ensure they stayed engaged). Andy led a highly entertaining and interactive afternoon based around their HBDI ® assessments with a group of GPs, Senior Nurses, Mangers and the Executive Team and six weeks on people are still talking about what colour they are and what that means for how they work together. A hugely successful event and I’d highly recommend them if you want to shift the thinking with your teams.”

Our Myers Briggs training course is for people that want to understand themselves and others better. In short, people that want to create a more harmonious workplace with less conflict.
10 Learners because this drives enough discussion between the learners to explore the skill well, whilst not too many that any single Learner gets ‘lost’ in the debate.
If you do not have up to 10 people please check out our 121 Executive Coaching, which can help just you to learn this skill.
Alternatively, contact us and we will do our best to tailor to your specific needs.

£112.50 per Learner per half day.

The total cost for up to 10 Learners for the x3 half day Myers Briggs training course is £3,375 plus vat. This includes sticky pieces, and the 5 level evaluation ‘Chain of Evidence’.
The training is held on-site at the client’s premises. Alternatively, we can organise an off-site venue and charge it back to the client.
There are many evaluation methods for training. Each tries to find the holy grail of return on investment. We use Donald Kirkpatrick’s four level training evaluation model as a base. Why? Because it has stood the test of time, since 1953.
1: Reaction: How did the Learners react to the training?
2: Learning: How much learning did the Learners get?
3: Behaviour: How much have the Learners used the learning?
4: Results: How much effect did the Learner’s learning have on performance?
Few training providers measure the return on investment beyond the level 1 reaction. We have added one further level:
5: Sponsor: How much did we achieve the sponsor’s objectives?

Training Course Duration

At MBM we no longer offer 1-day courses due to their limited effect.
This Myers Briggs training course benefits from our Sticky Learning ® unique training method. This enables Learners to learn more, learn more quickly, and learn more easily.
Sticky Learning ® is a key part of the 4 month training course. It consists of pre-work, Learning To Learn 1/2 day training course, a Foundation half day training course, an embedding 1/2 day, and an Advanced 1/2 day training course (4 months after the Foundation training course).
In between the Foundation training course and the Advanced training course, the Learner will be challenged to complete ‘Sticky Pieces’. This appeals to the 70:20:10 learning model. These are desk-based activities that help the Learner to change their long term behaviour by identifying a habit that they wish to adopt to embed the new skill.
The Learner is also given:
1. Access to our skill specific and learning objective specific ‘Knowledge Vault’.
2. Email and telephone support throughout the training course.
3. An option to bolt on ‘Individual Coaching’ to support the Learner further.
4. An option to bolt on a 1/2 day ‘Annual Refresh’ to further enhance the learning in the future.
