5 Super Easy Ways to Become More Productive!

Being More Productive

In this time and age when we are occupied with social media, smartphones, and internet, distraction is a common problem, it is hard to be more productive.

On the other hand, there are people who routinely wow their peers with their multitasking skills and efficiency. They tend to finish every work on time even when they work on multiple projects and they still manage to find time to spend with their family and friends.

So when stress is killing you mentally and physically, seeing such people could cause some moments of sulking. Rather than envying such individuals, you should rather try to become one of them and increase your productivity. All you need to do is follow the right approach. Here is how:

1. Plan It Out

Many times, we may find ourselves overwhelmed with several projects, deadlines, and sundry tasks. This is particularly true if one is juggling the job, studies, freelancing work, and domestic chores. Now, the last could range from being a housewife to a CEO.

Nevertheless, no job is too hard if it’s properly planned out. The night before a busy day, take a deep breath and make a list of all you have to accomplish the next day. Prioritise the important tasks and keep checks on the ones you can do later. Additionally, you should set out your outfit and accessories along with the supplies for the next day’s work.

Planning out your tasks would not only help you accomplish more tasks quickly but also help you take out some “me” time. Putting out your outfit and supplies will save you crucial time and keeps you from doing things in a hurry.

Additional time-saving tasks could be meal-prepping, setting alarms a bit earlier, and generally trying to get a job done as soon as possible.

2. Make A Habit Of Healthy Eating

Speaking of meal prepping, your eating habits directly contribute to your productivity. It might seem strange to some, but those in the know would realise that junk foods and fizzy drinks are not your friends. They make one lethargic, prone to sickness and disease, and thus less able to focus or concentrate on our tasks.

Health experts now say that all processed foods, especially the ones marked low-fat or sugar-free, are harmful. A proper diet is also free of refined sugar, fast food, and alcohol for the most part. You would never find the most productive people routinely getting drunk late at night, for instance.

One can actually eat to become more productive. Healthy foods such as chia seeds, flaxseeds, natural yoghurt, and leafy greens can give a power boost to their consumer throughout the day. Certain artificial boosters such as caffeine or drugs are best avoided, as they can lead to more lethargy and health complications later on.

Green smoothies, made up of apples, spinach, celery, lemon, etc, are a huge dose of fibre. This cleanses the body of energy-sapping toxins and leaves you feeling energised and better able to focus. The vitamins and minerals in these ingredients have fuelled many productive persons’ day.

3. Indulge in a Daily Exercise Routine

Working out is one of the best ways to get more energy. Sure, you’re expending energy on walking, lifting weights, and cycling, but these activities have numerous health benefits. Your body would get more fit and toned, making to look and feel ready for action!

Additionally, an early morning workout gets the blood circulating properly. This releases endorphins and creates a feeling of overall well-being. Working out also de-stresses people and energises them for any problem that might come along.

It might take some willpower and a bit of pushing, but getting into the workout habit is extremely beneficial. The productivity levels of such an individual are more likely to go up. Their overall mental and physical health would also undergo an enhancement due to proper exercise.

4. Increase Water Intake

You’re probably tired of hearing this from your mother, your doctor, and your gym instructor. However, this piece of advice is as valuable as it is universal. What with coffee, tea, and drinks consumption, very few people actually end up drinking more than two gas of water per day.
Our bodies are in need of proper hydration, but we tend to go for instant power-ups like espresso shots. These eventually dehydrate our systems and make us feel exhausted more quickly.

Hence, change your mindset towards the water and start drinking it regularly. Keep a water bottle with you and aim to finish it within a couple of hours. You may have to visit the bathroom more frequently, but it’ll be worth it. Just think of it as all the toxins being flushed from your system, leaving you with more energy to be productive!

5. Keep Distractions at Bay

Consider putting up a “Do Not Disturb” sign on your cubicle or office door, especially when you have an important task to focus on. This would deter those who keep stopping by just to make small talk.

Whether you work from home or an office, you should try to stay offline as much as possible. Switching off your smartphone is the best way to avoid distractions. In this way, you won’t be tempted to check your e-mail, social media notifications, or scroll through your newsfeeds.

Also, you should consider turning off your phone or silencing it before getting down to a task. Constant messages and calls are a huge distraction and would most likely interrupt your flow of thoughts. Hence, it’s better to remain in your work bubble until turning your phone one is an absolute necessity.

Wrapping Up on Become Productive…

Willpower and proper management are the top features of increasing your own productivity. While a different method might work for different people, the above tips are generally feasible. Of course, one might have to make some tweaks according to their work type or the environment.
However, where there’s a will, there’s a way. If you feel you aren’t operating at your full productivity level, force yourself to take up at least one of these habits. Hopefully, the quality of your life, as well as your productivity level, would go up very soon.
